The industry that I chose to research is the characterisation rental industry. Blockbuster dominated the industry until they begin closing the doors of local anaesthetic franchises, as a result of filing bankruptcy, due to losses, debt, and bulletproof challengers like Netflix and Redbox. Netflix is the largest movie rental service with over 6 million members worldwide. Netflixs success became the main contributor to the wrecking of Blockbuster. Since 2000, new electronics and technologies have multiplied consumer opportunities to download and view movies.
In 2011, Blockbuster began trying to regain its competitive advantage when Netflix took a misstep and decided to increase its prices for DVD subscribers. Now, Blockbuster, along with virago and Redbox, are fighting against Netflix, to rest dominant in the movie rental industry.
Hypothesize the basic short-run and long-run behaviors of the model in the industry you have chosen in a market economy.





Netflix became an instant hit when it opened its virtual doors in 1999, offering a wider variety of movies. In the short run, disrespect its misstep of increasing prices, Netflix is still a leading competitor in the movie rental industry. The company is continuing to remain ahead due streaming its videos over the internet and its transport order DVD system. In the long run, the industry is considered to be a moving target because the tech industry is ever introducing new innovative content and new products.
Analyze at least three (3) possible areas for the industry that could lead to movement constitutes, and explain each in detail.
