I. What is the objective?
in that location are many different opinions about the exact purpose of gentility. Functionalists believe that students should be educated in order to incur productive members of connection; conflict-theorists believe that the education system helps to nurture existing inequalities within social classes and reconstructionists believe that schools should use education in order to reconstruct or transform society (Johnson, Musial, Hall(a), Gollnick, and Dupris, 2007). In light of all of these theories, I believe that in many cases, the current education system takes on characteristics of the conflict-theorists’ philosophy, although it should be centered around the reconstructionists philosophy. Due to education being an of import part of all students’ every-day life, they should use it in order to positively impact the world in which they live.
As a issuing of the coupled States being a democratic society, it is my opinion, that the textbook supports the reconstructionists salute education. This approach emphasizes the need to provide equal learning opportunities for all students.



Furthermore, this approach encourages “teachers and other school personnel to actively deform with the community to overcome inequalities and injustices to students and their families” (Johnson, Musial, Hall, Gollnick, and Dupris, 2007). The ordinal Amendment also supports the ideas of equality brought suds by reconstructionalism. Primarily, this amendment was established in order to protect the privileges of the citizens of the United States of America (U.S. Constitution). Specifically, the equal protection clause within the Fourteenth Amendment protects each student’s right to receive a high quality education (U.S. Constitution).
