Flannery OConnors A Good man is Hard to Find is a short story of a granny knot that fits into the Southern Gothic tradition.
The grandmother touched him on the shoulder. The Misfit jumped back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her threesome times through the chest. This is a story of a familys va zanyion that was tragically ended by a receiver and his gang after an interfering Mother/Mother-In-Law/Grandmother tries to avow that the family non to go to Florida but go to Tennessee instead. It was in item her own reinforcement that prompted the family to stray from the main road authority in search of some false Misfit. There were hints to the reader at the beginning of the story, that while on their vacation to Florida the family is destined to bilk lost treasure. This decision was a deadly one. It caused the family to fall into the path of the Misfit. For eccentric, There is an inmate fellow that escaped from Federal save and headed toward Florida. They call him the Misfit.
The grandmother states in her own words, I wouldnt take my grandchildren in any direction with a distressing like that a loose on it. I would not be able answer my conscience if I did. She is alike paranoid.



She tries to control her son by trying to convince him to go on a vacation to Tennessee instead of Florida. On their way she brings her cat along she makes all kinds of excuse why the cat cant stay at home. Also the grandmother goes to great lengths to dress in her best clothes. Another example of Southern Gothic. Grandmother remembers a plantation and tells the grand children there is a treasure there. The children get really excited and rampantly till their dad turns the car around and goes down the turd road.
