Mentorship Essay

I, the author of this portfolio am a staff nurse functional on a busy Accident and Emergency section (A&E). I have been in this job for almost 2 years and I feel confident at my menstruum skill level inside this field. Post qualifying, I started my occupational group as a staff nurse workings on an Emergency Admissions Unit for 18 months, gaining a valuable foot in nursing. I enjoy learning and progressing and have lately undertaken my BSc in Nursing to come on my personal and professional set upment. I am now ready to develop my teaching skills in order to pass on knowledge and skills in the agency of a practice wise man.

Throughout this module I leave alone spend a 10 week period working with a learner in my area of practice, to develop the needful skill and knowledge needed. I have asked an experienced mentor to observe and guide me on my journey of become an potent mentor.

My chosen learner is a healthcare assistant before long working on the department, undertaking an associate practitioners course. She has experience within the department and healthcare setting but needs to further develop her current skill level, broaden knowledge and develop new skills.
