FastServe Inc. is a company with $25 million in revenue and a solveforce of 350. Their transmission line is marketing branded sports apparel. In a bid to stop more sales from people of the Generation Y, FastServe decided to make websites aimed directly at this segment. When they did so, they moved ten per cent of their work force over to this division of the company. Unfortunately, things did not go fountainhead for them as the technology they chose, although new and innovative, took too long to transfer and made it difficult to place transactions. This was mainly due to trey-D drape-n-see mannequins that were designed to get the attention of the target market.
With the failure of the online scattering channel initiative, downsizing is inevitable. Some employees would be able to repose and move to other parts of the organization, but some had to be laid off. The decision is up to the superior manager of the pitying Resources department of FastServe Inc. The Vice President of Human Resources has empowered the senior manager to make these decisions within the workweek, in a direction that provides the most benefit for FastServe, while minimizing exposure of put on the line to healthy complications that can be present when downsizing.
Within the one week deadline a decision must be made to let three out of five candidates go, and repurpose the others based on their transaction and skill set.
