Into The Wild Essay
It is hard to c solely back living out in the wilderness all in all alone, on the whole separated from society. Chris McCandless from the film, Into the Wild, attempts to do just that, although in the end it leads to his death. umpteen critics debate whether the film suggests transcendentalist or naturalistic principles. McCandlesss baloney reflects transcendentalist ideals through his simplistic heartstyle, his self-finding mission, and his displayal of self-reliance.
Chriss pursuit of a life of rest displays transcendentalist ideals. Chris exhibits a negative attitude towards materialism, showing viewing audience that he takes to lead a simple life. After his graduation, his p bents want to buy him a gift, specifically a new car. However, he does not want any gift at all and becomes angry at the idea of receiving a new car. He also dislikes the circumstance that his parents pursue material excess. His sister, during one of the flashbacks, explains how Chris feels that his parents are blinded and that their blindness was emboldened as they made more than currency. In order to pursue a simpler life, Chris abandons objects that he feels are not necessities. One such object is money.



He gives all his savings to charity and burns the rest of his cash because to him, money is only an object and not necessary for living. His car is other item he deems unnecessary, and he ends up ditching it. Despite the fact that it was his favorite car, he values a life of simplicity more, and abandoning his car was a sacrifice he was willing to make. In addition to abandoning unnecessary items, he also attempts to live rack up what nature provides for him. He does not eat any store-bought food and his diet only consists of the animals that roam around deep down the wilderness. Also, although he is not willing to use a car, he is willing to use the magic bus as a resource because he believes it is provided to him by nature.
